Valentina Ramirez is a MFA 3D animation student from Venezuela in South America. In 2015 she graduated from the Miami International University of Art & Design with a BFA in Computer Animation, from there she worked as a Jr. Digital Illustrator at Digicel Talktime Inc. Now this year Valentina is ending her journey as a student and will begin a new one as a professional. Becoming an animator wasn’t her my mind when she was a kid, all Valentina knew is that she wanted to draw and become an artist. With the lack of exposure to the arts she became a self-taught at drawing. Due to the dictatorship that has deteriorated her country, she knew that there was no future for her. Before graduating from High School she took the most difficult decision, risk everything and leave her country in pursue for her dream. Since her first exposure to the entertainment industry it’s has been a learning curve and a journey of self-discovery for Valentina. After working for 1 year as an Illustrator she started to take an interest in animation as a craftsmanship. Then she decided to pursue an MFA in animation. As an animation student she had the opportunity to work in collaborative projects like “Coyote’s Place” “Steve’s Catch” and “Melody”. Currently working on her Thesis Project titled “Paws” and her demo reel. In animation she has learned a lot from getting feedback by her instructors and her classmates. She love giving feedback and collaborate with other animators, has problem solving skills, she works well under pressure, has good time management skills, she is willing to learn new things from the pipeline, lastly Valentina is not afraid of a good challenge and she will work hard to overcome it. Her goal as an animator is to be able to deliver character performance that are believable, appealing, and able to emotionally connect with people the same way she did.
