MFA - Compositing
Kevin Brennan
Hello, and thanks for considering me. Let’s dive into the basics first, shall we? I bring 18 months of dynamic industry experience as a Nuke compositor, paired with an MFA in Animation from The Academy of Art University (2021, 3.8 GPA). Transitioning from a two-decade video editing career, I didn’t take the direct route to compositing. Initially, I spent 18 months in a Santa Fe film school, delving into cinema cameras, cinematography, set lighting, and even editing a feature film. Subsequently, I pursued a master’s program at AAU, graduating in 2021 and entering the industry. In addition to university, I participated in a 12-week 1:1 mentorship with Senior Compositor, Josh Parks, and did events volunteering with the VES-Bay Area chapter. Some of the films I worked on as a VFX compositor include Enola Holmes 2, Man From Toronto, and the upcoming Sandy Cheeks/Sponge Bob movie! Despite the challenges of the strikes this past year, I’m eager for the chance to get back to work and showcase my amazing skills in action.
