MFA-Modeling

Brice Cloyd

Brice Cloyd is a 3D modeler and digital artist completing his MFA in Animation & Visual Effects at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, specializing in character, creature, and hard-surface modeling.

His work combines a love of storytelling with the technical challenges of bringing imaginative designs to life. From expressive characters and unusual creatures to detailed environments and mechanical assets, Brice enjoys exploring how shape, personality, and thoughtful design bring his creations to life. He works primarily in Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Arnold, with experience in sculpting, texturing, animation, and look development.

Before pursuing a career in 3D, Brice spent over a decade as an educator in music, visual arts, and theater, and has worked in fitness coaching and leadership. These experiences have shaped his collaborative approach, creative problem-solving skills, and appreciation for continuous learning.

As he completes his MFA, Brice looks forward to bringing his artistic vision, technical skills, and collaborative spirit to professional productions in animation, VFX, and related creative industries.
