Jason Preciado-Dechert is a passionate character animator with a playful demeanor and generous approach to collaboration. Before earning an MFA in 3D Animation from Academy of Art University in December 2025, Jason worked as a professional actor in Los Angeles and New York for over a decade. During his time as an actor, he developed keen observational skills, adaptability, and a story-driven approach to character-building fueled by curiosity and compassion. Jason’s advanced understanding of animation principles and his award-winning acting skills work together to create dynamic characters and facilitate artistic flexibility. He believes each moment in character animation is an opportunity for the exploration and development of story, and he looks forward to discovering that story, one moment at a time.
