BFA - 2D Animation
Megan Goff
Megan Goff is a traditional 2D and stop-motion animator who brings together the cozy and the unsettling, the cute and the strange. Through bold color choices, dynamic movement, and compelling narratives, her work explores the contrasting sides of her artistic identity—from a deep appreciation for the softness and gentleness of creatures and landscapes to a fascination with the eerie, intense, and grotesque aspects of the world.
Megan finds inspiration outdoors, where life drawing and on-site painting fuel her creative process. Observing people and animals in motion, capturing their personalities through expressive poses, and studying their interactions with their surroundings inform her animation and storytelling. Through painting, she delves into color theory, exaggerating hues and forms to enhance mood and atmosphere.
While her creative process begins in traditional mediums, her final works often take shape in the digital realm. She has contributed to collaborative short films, freelance graphic design projects, and commissioned paintings. Proficient in Procreate, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Dragonframe, Megan refines her character designs, layouts, and animations with a keen eye for detail. Whether working on hand-drawn or stop-motion projects, she strives to merge technical skill with artistic exploration, crafting work that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
