BFA-Compositing
Rylan Sakai
I’m Rylan Sakai, a VFX Compositor finishing my BFA in Visual Effects at the Academy of Art University. I’ve spent the past four years freelancing as a compositor, taking on a wide range of projects—from simple paint-outs to fully integrated CG shots. My passion for visual storytelling began when I was young, making videos for YouTube. That creative spark led me to pursue a career in film and VFX.
I’m proficient in Nuke, Maya, Unreal Engine, Houdini, Syntheyes, and Adobe tools like After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition, and Mocha AE.
Through the Academy’s StudioX program, I’ve worked on real-world productions like Omni Loop and A Desert, where I not only contributed shots but also led some shows helping the studio get shots through the pipeline smoothly and efficiently.
